My lovely wife is also a lovely cook. We were eating leftovers for a couple of weeks! :-)

I like that passage from Isaiah as well. You know, in Men's group the other night, the teacher of the series said something I hadn't heard before, but made sense when I heard it. Many Christians will say something like, "Jesus is the reason for the season." This is true. We celebrate during this time of year because of Jesus being born into the world. It is only true to an extent though. The reason for the season, is us. Why did Jesus come into the world? He came so that He could save us! He came so that He could draw us to the Father. He came so that we could have a relationship with God. Read verse 6 of Isaiah 9 again. For to US a child is born, to US a child is given.

I thought that was pretty profound once I let it sink in and thought about it. So you are very right Rachel, this is certainly the time for giving thanks! We give thanks for the loved ones in our lives, ;-), and especially for the gift of Jesus coming to this earth to die for us.Joe R.http://joerudin.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8037410851478575437.post-61983358845699680952011-12-05T11:08:04.302-08:002011-12-05T11:08:04.302-08:00Love that verse. :)Love that verse. :)Heather @ Simple Wiveshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13258296077135380226noreply@blogger.com
